Zenken Hosts the 2nd Indian Talent Exchange Meeting in Tokyo
On September 2, 2026, Zenken Corporation, located in Minato-ku, Tokyo, led by President Jun Yoshinobu Hayashi, held the second Indian Talent Exchange Meeting at its headquarters. This event welcomed Arun Kumar Pillai, CEO of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) of India, creating an opportunity for Indian personnel working in Japan’s care and hospitality sectors to interact with their employers and stakeholders.
Overview of the Indian Talent Exchange
The meeting aimed to gather Indian workers employed in care facilities and hotels across Japan, facilitating deeper connections among them, while also promoting a supportive environment for long-term employment in Japan. This event followed the inaugural exchange held in June 2025.
A total of 43 Indian talents, along with representatives from their host organizations, participated in the event. The NSDC CEO took the opportunity to personally motivate the attendees, expressing his appreciation for the contributions of Indian workers in supporting Japan's care and hospitality industries. Attendees responded enthusiastically, with comments like, "I felt reassured talking to fellow countrymen" and "It was heartening to know that NSDC cares about us."
Staff from the host facilities also shared their observations and commitments, stating, "Seeing everyone enjoying their life in Japan made me realize the importance of supporting their long-term stay and well-being."
Sign Ceremony with NSDC
On the same day as the exchange, President Jun Yoshinobu Hayashi and CEO Arun Kumar Pillai conducted a signing ceremony to renew their collaboration agreement. Since entering a partnership with NSDC International Limited, a 100% subsidiary of NSDC, in July 2023, Zenken has worked closely to develop and introduce Indian talent. The renewal of the collaboration aims to strengthen their efforts, including expanding the scale of Indian talent introduction and broadening the types of jobs and industries to include besides care and hospitality.
Context and Objectives of the Indian Talent Exchange
Faced with a severe labor shortage, Japan's care and hospitality sectors are urgently seeking skilled personnel from abroad. As the country prepares to transition from the Technical Intern Training Program to the new "Fostering Employment" system in April 2027, enhancements to the integration and retention of foreign workers become increasingly necessary.
Recognizing these changes, Zenken collaborates with NSDC and NSDC International Limited. Together, they focus on training and introducing Indian talent, as well as providing comprehensive support in Japanese language education and employment integration. This exchange meeting serves as a means to express gratitude and inspiration to the Indian professionals supporting Japan's care and hospitality industries.
