Celebrating Veterans Day: A Community Gathering at The Stash Room

The Stash Room Hosts Veterans Day Bash

On November 1, 2026, The Stash Room in Orland Hills will open its doors to veterans and their families for the much-anticipated Veterans Day Bash. This exciting event runs from noon to 6 p.m. at 9545 167th Street, and aims to foster community connections, provide valuable wellness resources, and celebrate the service of our veterans.

In collaboration with Balanced Veterans Network (BVN) and Operation 1620, the Veterans Day Bash promises a weekend full of enlightening experiences tailored to veterans. Attendees will receive access to a variety of wellness resources and educational sessions, ensuring they can make the most informed decisions regarding their health and well-being. The event is powered by RYTHM, an organization dedicated to supporting veterans through diverse programming.

The presence of veteran-centric resources, including historical military vehicles, engaging local vendors, and food trucks, will ensure that there is something for everyone. Furthermore, a unique opportunity for veterans to sign up for free medical cannabis certifications will be available, showcasing alternative wellness options that have shown promise in promoting health.

One of the speakers at the event, Robert Sanchez, a veteran himself, expresses the significance of such gatherings. He highlights the importance of community in his own journey towards wellness, stating, “Through BVN and Operation 1620, I've found a community of veterans I can connect with, and cannabis has been part of my personal wellness journey.” Sanchez encourages fellow veterans to engage in such community-building experiences to find support and understanding amongst peers.

Programming for the event will kick off with "BVN Intro 101," presented by Caleb Masoner at noon, followed by policy updates by Eric Jansen and Steve Philpott Jr., MSc, CSCS, at 1:30 p.m. A moment of silence will be observed at 4:20 p.m. to honor veterans who have served and remember those who have been lost.

Jorge “Jojo” Plascencia, Marketing Director at Stash Dispensaries, emphasizes the goal of the Veterans Day Bash: “We want veterans to feel appreciated and have a place where they can connect with people who understand their experiences. Bringing BVN and Operation 1620 together gives us the opportunity to support that community, create meaningful conversations around wellness through the plant, and help veterans connect with resources.”

The Veterans Day Bash is part of The Stash Room's ongoing commitment to fostering community engagement through cannabis education and meaningful community events. This gathering represents a rare chance for veterans to not only connect with one another, but also to learn about invaluable resources available to them.
