Metropolitan Edmont Hotel's Triumph in Fire Safety Drill
Located in the heart of Chiyoda, Tokyo, the Metropolitan Edmont Hotel, under the guidance of General Manager Masaaki Kobayashi, recently achieved a remarkable victory at the fire safety training drill held by the Kojimachi Fire Department. On June 23, 2026, their self-firefighting team showcased their rigorous training, earning them first place in a competitive evaluation that included 27 teams from various establishments.
The drill aimed to enhance the skills related to initial fire extinguishing, communication, and emergency evacuations among the participating teams. The competition featured three categories: general team first fire hydrant, security team, and general team second fire hydrant. The Edmont hotel team excelled in the general team first fire hydrant category, significantly demonstrating their commitment to safety.
With a strong emphasis on guest safety, the Metropolitan Edmont Hotel prioritizes enhancing its disaster prevention framework daily. Leading up to the event, self-firefighting team members Tomoka Takazawa, Kazushiro Kasama, and Kiichi Kumagai underwent intensive training alongside their regular duties, adding pressure yet preparing them for the challenge. Their coordinated teamwork and swift, precise actions were highly evaluated during the competition, culminating in their impressive win.
