The Österreichischer Markt, an exciting cultural event organized by the Japan-Austria Cultural Association, will be held from November 28 to December 1 in Tokyo's Minato District at PASONA SQUARE. This year marks the sixth iteration of this engaging event, which offers attendees a wonderful opportunity to immerse themselves in Austria's rich culture, food, and music.

A Celebration of Culture and Community

Founded in 1985, the Japan-Austria Cultural Association has been dedicated to fostering cultural and artistic exchange between Japan and Austria. Since 2020, they have collaborated with various companies from the Pasona Group to promote a range of social initiatives that celebrate music and culture. The Österreichischer Markt is one of the highlights of their efforts, made possible with support from the Austrian Embassy’s tourism department and Advantage Austria Tokyo.

What to Expect at the Event

During the event, attendees can look forward to a variety of Austrian delicacies, including the fresh wine "Heuriger," which is traditionally released on November 11 each year. A diverse range of Austrian wines, foods, and merchandise will be available for purchase, showcasing products imported directly from Austria. Partnering with the German-Austrian restaurant "Mahlzeit," food trucks will also serve authentic Austrian dishes like goulash.

In addition to the culinary delights, guests can participate in a hands-on marzipan craft workshop, where skilled artisans will guide you in creating festive decorations. The event will also feature a lunchtime concert, highlighting enchanting music from Vienna performed by talented flutist Sayaka Takeda and pianist Nagisa Okazaki.

Main Activities Include:

• - Sales of Austrian Wine, Food, and Crafts:

Visit Annex Aoyama for the sale of imported Austrian wines, including "Heuriger," as well as traditional foods and crafts. The first-floor plaza will host food trucks offering a variety of Austrian culinary options.

• - Lunch Concert:

On November 28, join us for a concert featuring flutes and piano performing delightful pieces from Vienna. Time: 12:15 PM - 12:45 PM.

• - Marzipan Craft Workshop:

On November 29, experience the art of marzipan-making with expert Akiko Takayama. Sessions are available at 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. Participants will make marzipan snowmen in line with the winter season.

• - Wine Seminars:

Learn about Austrian wines and culture from knowledgeable speakers at two sessions on November 29 and 30.
