Event Overview
The "GEMStartup TOKYO" project, initiated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, aims to nurture entrepreneurship by providing a platform that connects corporate know-how and innovative ideas with new business opportunities. On February 19, we will host a results presentation event showcasing the achievements of this year's participants.
Project Initiatives
GEMStartup TOKYO operates under two main programs:
1.
New Business Creation Platform: This program focuses on idea generation and helps entrepreneurs plan their business ventures.
2.
Commercialization Program: Designed to support startups in bringing their ideas to market.
Collaboration among entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and industry professionals is a cornerstone of this initiative, fostering a robust ecosystem for innovation.
Event Highlights
During the results presentation, we will celebrate the accomplishments of individuals and teams who participated in these programs this year. The event will include:
- - Keynote Speech: Delivered by Mr. Akira Ishikawa, CEO of Incubator Co., Ltd., who will discuss the importance of supporting internal entrepreneurship.
- - Presentation of Results: Five selected teams will share their experiences and findings from the Commercialization Program and New Business Creation Platform.
- - Feedback Session: Notable industry experts, including Mr. Kentaro Iino (CEO of coordimate) and Ms. Rii Takahashi (Principal at Green Ventures), will offer insights and evaluations.
- - Collaborative Learning: Selected teams will present how they have leveraged partnerships, facilitated by facilitator Daisuke Baba from NEDO.
After the official program, attendees will have the opportunity to network and engage in meaningful discussions to foster future collaborations.

- - Format: Both in-person at Tokyo Innovation Base, Chiyoda Ward, and online (Free admission)
- - Who Can Attend: Individuals from large corporations interested in entrepreneurship, startups, and innovation in Tokyo.
- - Registration: Those interested can register through the official GEMStartup TOKYO website. Registrations will be accepted until noon on February 18, or until the in-person capacity is reached.

Akira Ishikawa
CEO of Incubator Co., Ltd., and a distinguished professor at Meiji University Business School, Ishikawa has led significant projects within Recruit Co., focusing on nurturing corporate entrepreneurship and facilitating new business ventures.
Kentaro Iino
As the CEO of coordimate, Iino has a strong background in corporate management and has launched several successful new business initiatives.
Rii Takahashi
A Principal at Green Ventures, Takahashi has extensive experience in communications and strategic planning in the financial sector, emphasizing IR and portfolio management.
Taijiro Morihisa
As the Director of the TRIBUS Studio at Ricoh, Morihisa has successfully led multiple projects aimed at integrating new business models, bringing significant advancements in industrial technology.
Daisuke Baba
Leading startup support at NEDO, Baba has a rich academic and professional background in fostering collaborations between industry and academia.
