A Unique Adventure in History: Japan Castle Camp
Overview
From September 21 to 23, 2026, Plus One Education, a subsidiary of Riso Educational Group, will host an exciting camp titled
"Aim for National Domination! Castle Stamp Collection - Exploring Japan's Castles: Kansai Edition". This thrilling journey aims to engage young learners, specifically grades 1 through 9, in a hands-on exploration of Japan's historical castles while fostering teamwork and curiosity about the past.
Camp Highlights
1. Experience History First-Hand
The camp invites children to explore several renowned castles in the Kansai area, including iconic sites in Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Shiga, and Hyogo. A unique feature of this adventure is the collection of
御城印 (Castle Stamps) as participants visit each location. The stamps serve as both a keepsake and a tangible connection to Japan's rich heritage. Unlike a typical field trip, this camp encourages children to develop skills in collaboration and planning. Each group, limited to eight participants, will be accompanied by a trained staff member, ensuring that safety and enjoyment go hand-in-hand.
2. Teamwork and Fun
With over 2,000 castles across the country offering the chance to collect these stamps, the camp provides a rich opportunity for children to engage in cooperative learning. By splitting into teams and deciding which castles to visit each day, kids will learn the importance of planning, teamwork, and communication—skills that extend beyond the camp experience.
3. Learning Beyond the Classroom
No longer confined to textbooks, children will explore castles they've only seen in pictures or on the internet. This immersive experience will spark interest in Japanese history and culture, encouraging students to ask questions and discover more about their heritage. These encounters may very well deepen their love for history while stimulating curiosity about other fields of study.
