In a groundbreaking initiative, the Jordanian government has teamed up with Replit, a prominent name in software development, to introduce Siraj. This innovative AI-powered learning assistant is aimed at revolutionizing the educational landscape of Jordan, providing students and teachers with dynamic and interactive learning experiences.

The unveiling of Siraj marks the commencement of a pilot phase managed by the Ministry of Education. As part of the National Council for Future Technologies initiatives, this project aligns with the vision of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. The goal is clear: harness artificial intelligence to enhance education and improve the quality of life for citizens.

Azmi Mahafzah, the Minister of Education, emphasizes that Siraj is designed to offer both students and educators a rich learning environment powered by generative AI. The platform provides accurate responses and resources aligned with official curriculum standards, sourced directly from sanctioned textbooks. This commitment ensures reliable and high-quality educational support for all users.

Developed in less than a month by Amer Abulaila, a council member for future technology, Siraj's rapid deployment was made possible by leveraging Replit's software creation capabilities. Abulaila commented, "Building such a project from scratch would have normally required months. With Replit, we managed to prototype and deploy the learning assistant in a fraction of the time, turning our vision into reality."

During its pilot phase, Siraj has already made significant strides, reaching over 100,000 students and teachers, with more than 600,000 interactions recorded on the platform. Following the success of this initial trial, the Ministry of Education plans to roll out Siraj throughout the country, potentially benefiting 1.6 million students and 90,000 educators in Jordanian public schools.

Mahafzah highlighted that Siraj aims to boost student performance through self-directed learning and personalized academic support. He stated, "This initiative alleviates the burden on parents and teachers while ensuring that each student has access to precise, engaging, and interactive learning tools."

The platform's Arabic-language interface is intuitively designed to require no technical expertise, functioning more like a conversational search engine. This approach makes advanced AI technology accessible to all users, fostering greater engagement and participation.

Amjad Masad, the CEO of Replit, lauded the collaboration, stating, "Siraj is a powerful example of what is achievable when governments embrace innovation to empower their people. Designed on Replit's agentic software creation platform, Siraj brings cutting-edge AI innovation to the Jordanian national education system, aiding students and teachers in improving their learning outcomes.
