Brother International Corporation Marks New Leadership Era with Kenji Kamei as President
Brother International Corporation Welcomes New Leadership
On March 31, 2026, Brother International Corporation (BIC-USA) made a significant announcement regarding its corporate leadership. Effective April 1, 2026, Kenji Kamei will take on the role of president, setting a new trajectory for the company as it aims for further expansion and growth across the Americas.
Kenji Kamei, who has a long-standing history with Brother, previously served as the vice president and corporate planning officer, also holding a distinguished position on the BIC-USA Board of Directors. His journey with Brother began in 2001, and over the years, he has accumulated invaluable experience while working in various roles, including president of Brother Brazil. Kamei's extensive background within the Brother Group equips him with a well-rounded knowledge of the business and a strong network across the organization, pivotal for his new leadership role.
Kazufumi Ikeda, the president of Brother Industries Ltd., spoke highly of Kamei, noting, "Kenji is a proven leader with a deep understanding of our business, our customers, and our culture. His ability to create strong teams and deliver results across different regions positions him well to guide BIC-USA into the future."
In his new role, Kamei intends to focus on key areas: driving growth, strengthening business partnerships, and advancing the company's priorities. Known for his practical leadership style that emphasizes teamwork, Kamei expressed his excitement, stating, "It's an honor to step into this role. We have a strong team and a solid foundation on which to build. My aim is to continue delivering the 'At Your Side' promise to our customers while ensuring long-term business growth."
Kamei’s appointment follows the tenure of Don Cummins, who has served as president since 2019. Cummins will transition into the role of chairman of the BIC-USA Board of Directors, a position he will hold through March 2027. In this capacity, Cummins will provide support to Kamei and the rest of the leadership team during this crucial transition. Cummins has been with Brother since 1985 and has held numerous leadership roles focused on marketing and sales, which have contributed to the company’s steady growth and enhanced presence across the Americas.
These leadership changes are anticipated to catalyze a new phase for Brother International Corporation, a company renowned for its innovative solutions in the home office and business product sectors as well as in sewing and crafting industries. With global sales surpassing $6 billion, Brother has established a significant footprint in the market since its inception more than a century ago.
With its corporate headquarters in Bridgewater, NJ, Brother International operates various sales, marketing, and manufacturing services across the U.S and numerous subsidiaries in Canada, Brazil, and several Latin American countries. The strategic focus under Kamei’s leadership is seen as not only a continuation of Brother’s successful legacy but also an opportunity for introducing fresh initiatives aimed at meeting the evolving needs of their clientele.
As Brother transitions into this new era under Kamei's leadership, the company is poised to continue its trajectory of growth while reaffirming its commitment to customers, fostering innovation, and strengthening community ties throughout its operations.
