Presence Strengthens Leadership Team with New COO and CRO for Educational Services
Expanding Horizons: Presence's New Leadership
In a significant development for education technology, Presence, a leading provider of remote special education-related and mental health evaluation services, has appointed Jessica Wang as its Chief Operating Officer and promoted Fletcher Hutson to the position of Chief Revenue Officer. The new leadership promises to advance Presence’s mission of empowering educational professionals and supporting diverse student needs.
Experienced Leaders Joining Forces
Jessica Wang comes with a wealth of experience exceeding 15 years in the education and edtech sectors. Having previously served as the Senior Vice President of Global Operations at 2U, Inc., Wang is adept at scaling operations and driving revenues in fast-paced environments. Her journey began not in a boardroom but in a classroom, where she started her career as a high school history teacher. She believes passionately in using education to uplift communities and sees her role at Presence as an opportunity to expand access to essential therapy services.
Fletcher Hutson, previously the Vice President of Sales at Presence, steps into the CRO role with a commitment to enhancing customer relationships and driving strategic market strategies. With over a decade of experience in sales and revenue leadership at companies like PowerSchool, Hutson has a proven track record of scaling operations and guiding teams through growth phases. In an environment where the demand for special education and mental health services is greater than ever, his leadership is poised to connect schools, families, and students to crucial support.
Focus on Expanding Access to Therapy Services
Since its inception in 2009, Presence has made significant strides in educational support. The company has partnered with more than 10,000 schools across 47 states, providing over 7 million teletherapy sessions. Their platform, designed by clinicians, aims to enhance therapeutic relationships through technology, supporting a full range of clinical tasks from planning to therapy delivery and documentation. Their services reach a diverse array of settings, including rural, urban, and virtual schools.
"We are excited to welcome Jess and Fletch to the Presence leadership team," stated Presence CEO Kate Eberle Walker. The excitement stems from their mission-driven approach and their shared vision for increasing accessibility to vital services that can unlock each student’s potential.
Commitment to Diversity and Excellence
Both appointments reflect Presence’s commitment to diversity in leadership, with a majority female executive team aiming to reflect the demographics of its workforce and the communities it serves. The organization has been recognized for fostering a positive workplace environment, consistently receiving certifications from Great Place to Work®.
Presence has also been lauded for its innovative approach to teletherapy and its commitment to serving all students. This dedication has led to accolades, including the Excellence in Equity Award and a Tech Edvocate Award, highlighting its vital role in educational support.
Looking Ahead
As Presence forges ahead with its new leadership, the focus remains on addressing the critical shortage of school clinicians and breaking down barriers in access to educational services. By equipping teletherapy providers with cutting-edge technology and comprehensive support, Presence aims to redefine how schools meet the special education and mental health needs of their students. Together, Wang and Hutson's experiences will play a crucial role in shaping the company’s future, ensuring that it not only meets the demands of today’s educational landscape but also sets the standard for what teletherapy can achieve moving forward.
In a time of rapid change and challenges in education, Presence is positioned to lead the charge in shaping a brighter future for students by ensuring they have access to the services they need to thrive.
