Un Country, Two Systems" as articulated by Xi Jinping during a recent inspection tour of the region. He emphasized the importance of this integration as a model for the greater Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The cooperation zone is home to 30 national and provincial technology innovation platforms, over 268 high-tech companies, and several specialized firms. With initiatives like the Macao-Hengqin Youth Entrepreneurship Valley, the area encourages innovative talents and firms to thrive, thus enhancing local entrepreneurship.

Macao's Innovative Initiatives

The Macao SAR government is keenly aware of the pressing need for regional economic diversification. By nurturing high-end manufacturing, traditional Chinese medicine, financial services, and cultural tourism, the cooperation zone stands as testament to this vision. Furthermore, the completion of significant projects and platforms aimed at technological innovation has reinforced Macao’s status as a new global hub for tech advancements.

A noteworthy achievement is the launch of "Macao Science 1," the first joint satellite project between continental China and Macao. This satellite boasts the highest precision in geomagnetic field detection in the region, bolstering China's capacity for space research and innovation in a practical manner.

Fostering Young Talent

As Macao continues to develop, it has emerged as an ideal environment for budding entrepreneurs, thanks to its open business landscape and collaborative cooperation zone. Initiatives at universities like Macao University and the Macao University of Science and Technology (MUST) are already demonstrating fruitful results. In recent months alone, Hengqin has incubated 898 projects focusing on young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao, with a staggering 815 of these projects hailed from Macao itself.

During a recent visit, President Xi reinforced the notion that the development of Hengqin provides immense opportunities for young Macao residents to fulfill their aspirations for successful careers, echoing sentiments shared by Macao City University’s Vice President Ip Kuai Peng. Ip underscored the transformative influence the cooperation zone exerts over the mobility and professional aspirations of the younger generation in Macao, fostering greater interest in the extensive development opportunities available in the mainland market.

Xi emphasized that placing profound importance on education and innovation is vital. Cultivating high-quality talent through a strategically designed education system is crucial to meeting both national and Macao-specific development needs.

In conclusion, Macao, through its relentless dedication to technology and talent development alongside robust relative collaborations, is carving out a new path for diversified economic growth in the age of innovation. As more young entrepreneurs emerge from this environment, the synergy between Macao and Hengqin is poised for unprecedented achievements in the years ahead.
