In a notable strategic move aimed at strengthening its foothold in the UK water sector, Vortex Companies has officially announced the acquisition of Torrent Drainage Services Limited, a UK-based trenchless rehabilitation contractor. This acquisition is poised to enhance project delivery capabilities within Vortex's McAllister Group, significantly boosting their ability to execute critical rehabilitation projects across the region.

The CEO of Vortex Companies, Mike Vellano, emphasized the importance of AMP8, the significant investment in the UK's water and wastewater infrastructure, noting that such investments must effectively translate into productive field operations. He stated, “Torrent adds an experienced team that knows McAllister, our customers, and our expectations.” His comments underline the strategic synergy that this acquisition aims to achieve, given that Torrent's team has previously collaborated with McAllister on various rehabilitation projects, thus offering an established operational base on which to build.

Torrent Drainage Services specializes in several critical services, including cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, patch repairs, sewer cleaning, and CCTV inspection. Additionally, they provide robotic lateral reinstatement, which adds significant technical capability to the existing services offered by the Vortex family.
