Celebrate the Beauty of Nature Through Glass Art
ESCAPERS ANOTHER WORLD will host a remarkable exhibition featuring the works of glass artist
Satomi Ando from
August 17 to August 30, 2026. Known for her skillful use of glass blowing techniques, Ando captures the mesmerizing moment when heated glass shifts in shape due to gravity and centrifugal force. Inspired fundamentally by the element of
water, her creations reflect the gentle ebbs and flows found in nature.
In this exhibition, visitors can expect to see a variety of pieces, including vases, plates, and jewelry that embody the shimmering qualities of water's surface and droplets. Ando's work is characterized by the intentional retention of thickness and distortion in her glass pieces. As light interacts with the glass, it refracts and creates soft shadows, transforming the reflected scenery in delightful, surprising ways. Each piece radiates a sense of warmth and vitality, showcasing the unique charm inherent in Ando's art.
Among the highlights of the exhibition are signature works like
Puddle, which beautifully captures drops of water as if frozen in time, and sophisticated objects that combine glass with platinum. These masterpieces showcase her approach of embracing the glass's inherent characteristics, rather than controlling them entirely. This results in creations that possess a sense of spontaneity and expression—a fleeting display between water and glass.
Attendees of the exhibition will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the small, often overlooked beauties of everyday life, as well as the wonders of nature embodied in each artwork. It’s a chance to immerse oneself in the delicate balance between natural forms and artistic expression. Don’t miss the chance to view these enchanting pieces at ESCAPERS ANOTHER WORLD!
