Global Roadshows Energizing the 138th Canton Fair's International Appeal
The global promotion campaign for the 138th China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair, has successfully concluded after a series of roadshows spanning ten countries from July to September. These roadshows included nations such as Japan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Australia, Malaysia, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. These events aimed to bolster the fair's commitment to promoting international trade collaboration, and the presence of local business communities recognized its importance.
During the roadshows, attendees, and business leaders gained insights into the fair's vision and objectives. For example, while in Turkey and the United Kingdom, Zhang Sihong, the Deputy General Director of the Chinese Foreign Trade Center, emphasized the motto 'Canton Fair, Global Share.' He encouraged buyers to leverage the Canton Fair's digital tools, including its official app, for planning their visit routes more effectively and connecting with China's extensive supply chains.
In both Australia and Malaysia, Su Bin, Deputy General Director of the CFTC, highlighted the complementary nature of the Chinese and Australian economies, while underscoring the long-standing partnership between China and Malaysia. He urged buyers to utilize the Canton Fair as a platform to capitalize on burgeoning bilateral trade opportunities amidst strong economic sentiment.
During the roadshows in Japan and Mongolia, Ma Fengmin, Deputy General Director of the CFTC, recognized the long-standing contributions of Japanese buyers to the fair and welcomed the increasing participation of Mongolian enterprises. Ma pointed out that the upcoming edition promises higher-quality exhibitors, diverse ancillary activities, and improved services for international buyers.
Furthermore, during events in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Liu Xiaomin, Exhibition Director at the CFTC Group, spoke to the fair's status as a trusted source for quality products. He mentioned China's significant role as Kazakhstan's primary trading partner and evidenced the increasing demand from Uzbekistan as indicators of the fair's regional influence.
In Thailand and Bangladesh, Xu Jiansheng, Operations Director of the CFTC Group, emphasized how the fair is strategically tailored to meet local needs, serving as a key conduit for expanding cooperation in textiles, machinery, and household goods. The roadshows also featured comprehensive market research initiatives, with visits to leading retailers like Don Quijote in Japan, Coles in Australia, Lotus's in Malaysia, and Currys in the UK. In Kazakhstan, the CFTC signed a global partnership agreement with the Almaty branch of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs 'Atameken.'
The 138th Canton Fair, set to open on October 15 in Guangzhou, is expected to showcase a refined exhibition structure, higher-quality products, an expanded range of events, and thoughtful services tailored for international attendees.
