Hard Rock International and Shakira Unite for Women Empowerment Initiative on International Women's Day

In a significant move to celebrate International Women's Day and the entire International Women's Month, Hard Rock International has teamed up with global superstar and humanitarian activist Shakira to launch a transformative year-long initiative. This partnership aims to empower women worldwide to share their authentic stories and come together through the unifying force of music. This initiative was officially announced on February 28, 2025, ahead of the special observance on March 8.

Shakira, well-known not just for her incredible music but also for her philanthropic efforts, expressed her enthusiasm about working with Hard Rock International. She stated, "I’m thrilled to partner with Hard Rock, an organization with an incredible legacy of empowering women through the power of music. Together we can use our voices to break barriers and make the world a more inclusive space where every woman feels safe to be herself."

As part of this initiative, Hard Rock plans to host a remarkable 1,000 performances spearheaded by women, showcasing various talents. Events will be organized in venues worldwide, with an aim to raise funds through the Hard Rock Heals Foundation®. This foundation will allocate part of its earnings to benefit Shakira's Barefoot Foundation, which focuses on improving education and social development for girls in vulnerable communities in Colombia, alongside local women’s organizations.

Hard Rock International intends to donate $250,000 to the Barefoot Foundation as part of this initiative, illustrating their commitment to promoting female empowerment through education and opportunities.

The partnership also offers fans and patrons of Hard Rock Cafés a taste of Shakira’s favorite dishes on specially curated menus globally. These include delightful items like the "Hips Don't Lie" cocktail crafted with tequila, elderflower liqueur, strawberries, and muddled cucumbers. Guests can also enjoy Fattoush chicken salad, an homage to Shakira’s Lebanese roots, a Colombian burger, and a dulce de leche brownie topped with hot chocolate sauce. In connection with this initiative, specially designed merchandise including T-shirts, hoodies, and pins for International Women’s Month is available at Hard Rock's retail outlets and online.

Elena Álvarez, the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Partnerships at Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock International, also commented on the partnership, remarking, "From concerts to the launch party for her album, 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,' to her involvement in our Unity™ loyalty program announcement, the shared values of Hard Rock and Shakira in honoring women through music have connected us throughout her innovative career. This year, we encourage women to raise their voices, share their stories, and support one another."
