Raytron Unveils Cutting-Edge Infrared Technology at Auto China 2026
Advancements in Intelligent Driving at Auto China 2026
At Auto China 2026, held in Beijing, Raytron Automotive, a subsidiary of the leading infrared thermal imaging provider Raytron Technology, revealed its latest advancements in thermal imaging technology under the theme of "All-weather Safety Perception." The automotive industry is increasingly focusing on reliable environmental perception and proactive safety, especially as the evolution toward autonomous driving levels L3 and L4 progresses.
One of the standout features of Raytron's presentation was its innovative approach to infrared thermal cameras, which do not rely on ambient lighting conditions. This allows for improved object detection in complex scenarios, making it an essential part of multi-sensor fusion systems for intelligent vehicles.
Compact and Efficient Thermal Cameras
Raytron Automotive presented breakthroughs in compact, high-resolution thermal cameras designed for automotive applications. With an industry-leading 8-micron pixel pitch, the Horus640-EN thermal camera leverages Raytron's proprietary infrared detector and image processing chip. Unlike traditional solutions using 12-micron or 17-micron pixel pitches, this advanced architecture allows for the creation of smaller, lighter, and more energy-efficient thermal camera designs, all while maintaining high image quality.
Additionally, Raytron showcased its high-resolution infrared camera, the Horus1280, which offers a resolution of 1280×720. This enhanced image resolution expands detection range and provides more detailed object recognition, particularly in challenging situations such as complete darkness, glare from headlights, and fog.
Accelerating Consumer Acceptance of Thermal Imaging Technology
Beyond original equipment manufacturer (OEM) integration, Raytron Automotive is bringing infrared sensing technology to a broader consumer market. Their intelligent infrared night vision system, the CV301W, designed for the aftermarket, integrates a 12-micron thermal detector with embedded AI algorithms for accurate detection of pedestrians and vehicles. This system is exceptionally user-friendly, featuring fast installation and Wi-Fi connectivity, enhancing the driving experience during night-time travel for everyday drivers.
Moreover, Raytron Automotive is expanding the application of infrared sensing with its infrared temperature detection solution targeting cockpit applications. This technology aims to enhance intelligent climate control and interior interaction, offering a smarter and more responsive driving experience by precisely capturing temperature-dependent data.
