Rubin and Rudman Honored with Third Empowering Women Award from Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly

Rubin and Rudman Receives Third Empowering Women Award

Rubin and Rudman, a distinguished law firm based in Boston, has made headlines by securing the Empowering Women Award from Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly for the third straight year. This accolade highlights the firm’s proactive efforts to support and uplift women within the legal profession.

Managing Partner John J. McGivney expressed pride in receiving this prestigious recognition once again. He emphasized that the award reflects the firm’s dedication to fostering an environment where female attorneys feel valued and empowered. McGivney stated, "We are very proud of our firm's efforts to build a culture where women feel valued and supported, and this award shows that our efforts to recruit, retain, and advance talented women attorneys is working."

The firm’s commitment is evident through its Women’s Initiative, which focuses on enhancing the professional and business development opportunities available to women attorneys. This initiative aims to increase the representation of women in leadership roles both within the firm and the wider industry, while also addressing the unique challenges faced by women in the legal field.

In the last year, Rubin and Rudman’s Women’s Working Group launched a comprehensive business development training program, along with a pilot coaching program aimed at supporting women attorneys in their careers. Currently, women represent a significant portion of the firm's workforce, comprising 46% of all attorneys, along with 45% of practice group leaders and 43% of partners. Additionally, women hold 29% of seats on the firm’s Executive Committee, indicating a strong commitment to gender equality and leadership representation.

Beyond its internal initiatives, Rubin and Rudman has also extended its support to various non-profit organizations dedicated to empowering women and girls in the Greater Boston area. A recent highlight was the firm’s participation in The Wonderfund's 3rd Annual Period Party. This campaign was designed to collect essential feminine hygiene products for teenage girls involved with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF). The initiative successfully gathered over 13,000 hygiene kits, with more than 200 women, including members of Rubin and Rudman, coming together to contribute.

Founded over a century ago, Rubin and Rudman is a full-service law firm with nearly 100 lawyers. Besides supporting clients ranging from national and international corporations to non-profit organizations, Rubin and Rudman prides itself on its rich history and deep-rooted commitment to social responsibility. With additional offices in Andover and Woburn, Massachusetts, the firm continues to strengthen its presence within the legal services sector.

As Rubin and Rudman celebrates this recognition, it remains focused on its mission to empower women, both within the legal profession and the broader community. The firm showcases that by actively investing in women’s leadership, law firms can create a more equitable and inclusive environment, fostering success not only for individual attorneys but for the profession as a whole.
