Holy Cross Cemetery to Showcase Stunning New Mosaic Collection at Open House Event

Discover the New Mosaic Collection at Holy Cross Cemetery's Open House Weekend

Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum is set to welcome the public for an exciting Open House Weekend on October 10 and 11, 2026, inviting visitors to explore its newly launched addition to their memorial offerings. This special event will showcase two major attractions: the Open-Air Mausoleum of the Holy Spirit and the Chapel Mausoleum of Our Lady.

A New Era of Remembrance

At the heart of this Open House is a chance to preview the Open-Air Mausoleum of the Holy Spirit, which features elegant design elements, such as beautifully illuminated skylights and artwork that speaks to attendees on a spiritual level. Memorial Planning Advisors will be available for consultations, ensuring that families understand the options available for burials, cremations, and pre-planning arrangements.

Vibrant Mosaics Designed by Renowned Artists

One of the highlights of the Open-Air Mausoleum is a stunning collection of nine mosaics created by the acclaimed artistic duo, Alexander and Daniela Mandradjiev. These pieces use thousands of colored Venetian glass tiles, along with precious stones and gold leaf to depict symbols of the Holy Spirit, including the Dove, Fire, and Light, among others. As described by Alexander Mandradjiev, ‘Each mosaic is more than just an image; it’s a prayer expressed in color and light.’ This artistic showcase gives visitors a serene and reflective space, perfect for honoring loved ones and engaging in personal contemplation.

The Chapel Mausoleum of Our Lady

Additionally, the Chapel Mausoleum of Our Lady is currently under construction, featuring high-end interiors, stunning stained-glass windows, and a unique mosaic based on the Assumption of Mary. This chapel will serve as an ideal location for committal services, say prayers, and reflect on treasured memories of those who have passed away.

As expressed by Joseph Heckel, the Executive Director of Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Newark, ‘Holy Cross has been a place for faith and remembrance for generations, and these new spaces continue that mission with beauty fitting for those we honor.’

Special Offers for Attendees

During the Open House Weekend, families committing to memorial arrangements will receive access to 0% interest financing for a period of 48 months, as well as price protection for their selected services. Guided tours will be available from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM both days, allowing attendees to view the premises and learn more about the products and services offered.
