Having received nine Gold Glove Awards over his illustrious career, Mattingly expressed that this award is uniquely special as it reflects his intentions behind establishing the charity. Mattingly Charities was founded in 2007 with a clear mission: to support educational advancement, social development, and athletic opportunities for young individuals in underserved communities. With past endeavors including grants to over 25 organizations, the charity has demonstrated an impactful presence since relocating to Evansville in 2015. The organization provides funding ranging from $1,000 to $40,000, with all proceeds generated from fundraising activities reinvested into community initiatives.
