Rapid Relief Team's Impact on New Jersey Law Enforcement During FIFA World Cup Matches

The operation was a massive undertaking that involved 160 dedicated RRT volunteers from five different states, collectively contributing a staggering 1,526 volunteer hours across eight matches. Their efforts were not only significant in numbers but also impactful, as they served an impressive total of 9,200 meals, distributed 2,000 Frontline Support Packs, and provided countless cups of coffee, cold beverages, and refreshments to the officers on duty.
During the tournament, approximately 700 law enforcement officers were stationed at each match to manage security and public safety, making this one of the largest police operations New Jersey has ever seen. These officers faced record-breaking crowds, long shifts, and challenging summer conditions, all while maintaining a secure environment for those attending the events. "Food support is paramount to successfully accomplish this mission. Our Troopers cannot necessarily leave their post to come in to have their briefing and grab a meal and get hydration, so they can stay on post. It was critical having RRT here for this deployment, and we thank them for their effort and support during the FIFA World Cup," explained Drew.
