Announcing the Launch of Japan's First Educational Program 'Positive Learning Program (PLP)'

Introduction


On June 21, 2025, the Japan Junior Chamber (公益社団法人日本青年会議所) will host a significant announcement event for the Positive Learning Program (PLP) at Tokyo Gakugei University. This initiative is a collaboration involving Tokyo Gakugei University, Kaname Project Co., Ltd., the NPO National Free School Network, and Benesse Educational Research Institute. The goal of PLP is to maximize the unique abilities and talents of each child, utilizing generative AI and community collaborations to provide personalized learning experiences tailored to individual needs.

Program Content


This event will gather stakeholders from the PLP initiative that is being implemented across 30 locations nationwide. The startup team and participants will share examples of the program and engage in discussions, fostering a rich exchange of information to cultivate new collaborative educational opportunities. Participants will reflect on their experiences through group discussions and seminars aimed at nurturing regional educators.

Presentation of Examples


The program will showcase several examples from areas such as Iwate, Akita, Nagano, Wakayama, Okayama, Hyogo, and Nagasaki, summarizing implementation details, outcomes, and the application of generative AI. Participants will exchange best practices and insights based on these shared experiences, emphasizing areas for improvement and considerations gathered from the field.

Group Discussions


At 15:30, attendees will break into diverse groups mixing PLP implementers and local stakeholders. The discussions will revolve around two key themes:
1. What qualities and skills are essential for effective accompaniment in education?
2. What motivates adults involved in the program?
Each group's representatives will later present their thoughts.
