As we step into an era where living to 100 years is becoming more common, the need for comprehensive health awareness has never been more critical. The Japan Health Living Promotion Association, led by representative director Jun Nakajima, has been organizing the Japan Health Master Certification Exam, also known as Kenken, since 2017. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this initiative, which aims to enhance health literacy, supporting individuals in understanding and managing their health in various aspects of life.
The examination will take applications from August 3rd to October 15th, with the testing period set between September 24th and October 15th. It will be conducted in around 130 CBT testing centers across all 47 prefectures of Japan. The exam is designed to offer immediate results upon completion, and candidates can retake the same course during the application period, providing numerous opportunities for success.
Why Take the Kenken Exam?
Living a long life isn’t solely about longevity; it’s critical to focus on maintaining a healthy and independent life. The concept of "healthy life expectancy" emphasizes the importance of living well both mentally and physically. Candidates aiming to extend their healthy lifespan should not only gain knowledge about meals, exercise, and sleep but also learn how to filter and apply health-related information effectively to their lifestyles. The Kenken initiative strives to cultivate individuals who can not only comprehend health information but also integrate it into their daily choices and behaviors.
