Experience the Vibrant Colors of Nature with LG OLED TV at Frieze Seoul 2025

LG OLED TV Celebrates Nature's Colors at Frieze Seoul 2025

LG Electronics is taking center stage at Frieze Seoul 2025 with its innovative showcase titled "Park Seo-Bo x LG OLED TV: Colors Drawn from Nature." This exhibition runs from September 3–6 and marks LG's fourth consecutive year as a Headline Partner at the renowned art fair. In collaboration with the PARKSEOBO FOUNDATION, LG aims to honor the legacy of one of Korea’s most celebrated contemporary artists, Park Seo-Bo, by utilizing its transformative OLED technology to faithfully recreate his distinctive color philosophy.

A Fusion of Art and Technology

The exhibition embraces Park Seo-Bo's deep-rooted inspiration from nature, translating his signature hues into a breathtaking digital experience. Visitors can expect to see a captivating display that begins with Park's reflective black and white tones—black derived from the soot of traditional Korean kitchen hearths and white inspired by the tranquil beauty of hanji paper. This foundation gives way to vibrant colors drawn from the natural world, such as the vibrant yellow found in canola fields on Jeju Island, the soft pink of azalea blooms, lush greens of spring foliage, and the deep orange of ripe persimmons.

According to Park Seung-ho, chairperson of the PARKSEOBO FOUNDATION and the artist’s son, “nature speaks in colors beyond words.” This exhibition invites viewers not only to see but to actively engage with these colors, fostering a deeper connection between the art and the observer.

Innovations in Art Presentation

At the heart of the exhibition lies a unique T-shaped installation featuring LG's latest OLED evo G5 and M5 TV models. This interactive display presents a digitally reimagined artwork by Je Baak, an esteemed art professor at Seoul National University, which captures a pivotal moment for Park Seo-Bo. The artwork conveys the profound awe and healing experienced by the artist during a walk beneath the brilliant red autumn leaves. Collaborating with AI, Baak has curated a visual representation of varying shades of autumn leaves sourced from global impressions, thus forging a collective visual narrative that honors the artist’s perspective.

Bringing Art into Everyday Life

As part of its initiative to widen the reach of the Frieze experience, LG has also introduced the LG Gallery+ app available on the LG webOS platform. This innovative application allows LG TV owners to access over 100 selected artworks from Frieze Seoul—including pieces by Park Seo-Bo—for free viewing after the event. This feature provides art enthusiasts, who may have missed the live experience, with the opportunity to create a personal gallery within their own homes.

Kate Oh, head of Experiential Marketing at LG, emphasizes that LG OLED technology is designed to present deep blacks and vibrant colors with incredible accuracy, honoring Park Seo-Bo's artistic vision. By collaborating with esteemed cultural organizations like Frieze, LG seeks to bridge the gap between art and technology, cultivating fresh opportunities for artistic engagement in contemporary cities around the globe.

A Legacy of Art and Education

Park Seo-Bo (1931–2023) was not only a trailblazer in the Korean contemporary art realm but also an influential educator. His innovations in the Dansaekhwa movement and the Ecriture series explored systemic themes of repetition and meditative processes, aligning with a uniquely Korean outlook on nature and wellness. Park’s significant contributions helped modernize art education and globalize Korean art. In 2019, he established the PARKSEOBO FOUNDATION to support the preservation of his artistic heritage and nurture future talents in the field.

LG’s Media Entertainment Solution Company continues to push the envelope in television innovations, focusing on improving users’ media experiences through OLED technology. By merging high-quality visuals with artistic endeavor, LG OLED is redefining how we interact with art in our daily lives. For anyone interested in the intersection of creativity and technology, LG’s efforts represent a thrilling movement in contemporary art culture.
