Building Bridges: Collaborative LGBTQ Initiatives Across Sectors

Bridging Companies and Society: LGBTQ Collaboration Examples

On October 15, 2025, the certified NPO Nijiiro Diversity will hold an online program aimed at corporate personnel responsible for LGBTQ initiatives. This event is designed to showcase collaborative efforts and innovative projects between companies and Nijiiro Diversity, fostering a more inclusive society for LGBTQ individuals.

Nijiiro Diversity has made significant strides in addressing the challenges faced by LGBTQ individuals and their allies through extensive research, social education, and the operation of LGBTQ centers. By partnering with various businesses, they aim to create a broader impact towards a society that embraces equality regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI).

During this program, three distinct case studies will be presented, highlighting the impactful projects that have emerged from these collaborations, alongside an explanation of sponsorship opportunities for the upcoming year. Businesses engaged in diversity and inclusion efforts are encouraged to participate.

Featured Collaborative Case Studies

1. KOBELCO Inc.: KOBELCO × LGBT ALLY
This initiative aimed to raise awareness about LGBTQ issues through a vibrant display of rainbow colors at Hanazono Rugby Stadium, known as the sacred ground of rugby in Japan. The collaboration began as a sponsorship for the Pride Center Osaka, which operates LGBTQ support initiatives.

2. Sekisui House: Designing the Space for the Pride Center Osaka
Sekisui House took part in designing the interior of the Pride Center, which plays a vital role in supporting the LGBTQ community. The design features a six-colored rainbow representing sexual minorities on the ceiling, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.

3. PwC Japan Group: Tokyo Pride 2025 Collaborative Booth
By merging PwC Japan's resources and expertise with the knowledge from Nijiiro Diversity, this partnership enabled the delivery of inclusive experiences and educational insights to a wider audience during the Tokyo Pride event.

These initiatives underscore the successful collaborations where corporate commitment meets social impact, contributing to the development of LGBTQ policies within organizations.
