Celebrate Spring at Itabashi City Library
Itabashi City is excited to announce a special exhibition at the Central Library, coinciding with the events of the Tokiwadai Cherry Blossom Festival. From March 23 to March 30, the library will be transformed into a vibrant space showcasing cherry blossom-themed artworks created by local children. Additionally, a curated selection of recommended books will be available, inviting visitors to explore the joy of reading.
Event Details
The exhibition will run every day from 9 AM to 8 PM at the first-floor library hall of Itabashi City Central Library, located at 4-3-1 Tokiwadai, Itabashi. This initiative is designed not only to highlight the artistic talents of the community's youth but also to promote reading among all age groups.
‘Book Lovers' Recommendations Vol. 2’
One of the highlights of this event is the ‘Book Lovers' Recommendations Vol. 2’ segment. This unique initiative allows patrons of the library to recommend their favorite books. These recommendations come with personalized notes from the recommenders, sharing their reasons for choosing each title. The recommended books will be available for borrowing, a feature that was immensely popular during last year’s event. This interactive approach encourages community engagement and assists library visitors in discovering new and exciting reads.
‘My Cherry Blossom’ Exhibition
Alongside the book recommendations, the library will host the ‘My Cherry Blossom’ exhibition. This segment features beautiful cherry blossom illustrations created by local children up to sixth grade. These artistic expressions not only add a festive touch to the event but also provide young artists with an opportunity to showcase their creativity. Starting from April 1, these artworks will also be featured in the Itabashi City Digital Library, allowing everyone to enjoy them anytime and anywhere.
The ‘My Cherry Blossom’ exhibition is a wonderful way to celebrate the artistic achievements of our youth and to foster a love for nature through art. Past submissions from previous years can also be accessed digitally, ensuring that the beauty of these artworks is shared widely.
Engage with Community
This event is a perfect opportunity for families, friends, and art enthusiasts to come together and enjoy a blend of culture, literature, and creativity. Whether you're interested in borrowing a book or appreciating young talents, this exhibition promises something for everyone.
