Mitsubishi HC Capital Group Engages in Forest Conservation Efforts

On October 11, 2025, the Mitsubishi HC Capital Group took an active role in forest conservation by participating in reforestation activities at their designated area called "Corporate Forest." This initiative, aimed at reducing pollen levels, witnessed the participation of 28 employees and their family members, who engaged in essential tasks like underbrush clearing.

The "Corporate Forest" project, a collaboration between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Agricultural, Forestry, and Fisheries Promotion Foundation, focuses on converting dense cedar and cypress plantations—known for heavy pollen discharge—into pollen-reducing species, including less allergenic pines. The project emphasizes the support of businesses and organizations to facilitate the maintenance of these forests.

Mitsubishi HC Capital has been a proactive supporter of this program since 2019. Through a formal agreement with the Tokyo government, the company designated a 2.52-hectare forest in Kamiofuna, Hachioji City, as the "Mitsubishi HC Capital Group Forest." They have provided financial support for maintenance efforts and have encouraged their employees to partake in volunteer activities aimed at fostering the growth of this vital green space. This includes previous efforts where employees planted low-pollen pine seedlings while continuing their maintenance activities.

To enrich the understanding of the significance of reforestation, the company organized a pre-activity seminar with Fumitaka Nishino, the CEO of Green Elm Co., Ltd. The seminar, titled "The Meaning of Planting Trees and Growing Forests: What Businesses Can Do," aimed to enlighten employees about their role in environmental stewardship.

Mitsubishi HC Capital Group adheres to a social contribution policy centered on key themes such as "Environment," "Human Resource Development," "Welfare and Health," "Safety and Security," and "Community Contribution." The company actively participates in charity and volunteer programs globally, showcasing its commitment to making a positive impact on society.

Moving forward, by providing continuous opportunities for employees to engage in social contribution activities, the Mitsubishi HC Capital Group aims to inspire changes in awareness and behavior in their daily routines. This initiative is part of a broader objective to address societal challenges and foster a sustainable and prosperous future for communities worldwide. Through these combined efforts, Mitsubishi HC Capital Group not only enhances the environment but also supports the development of socially responsible citizens committed to making a difference in the world.

In conclusion, the readiness of Mitsubishi HC Capital Group’s employees to engage in these activities signifies the company’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. Their multi-faceted approach seeks to ensure that both the corporate sector and individual employees can contribute to a healthier environment, addressing issues like pollen pollution while nurturing a sense of community and purpose.
