Exciting Career Experience Event for Kids: Tatsu no Ko Waku Waku Work Held in Ryugasaki

Tatsu no Ko Waku Waku Work: A Dive into Career Experiences for Children

In August, Tobu Top Tours Co., Ltd., headquartered in Sumida, Tokyo, successfully hosted the child-focused career experience event, Tatsu no Ko Waku Waku Work, in partnership with the Ryugasaki City Office. This initiative was organized by the city's Comprehensive Policy Department, aimed specifically at introducing children to a variety of professions, while simultaneously highlighting the charm of Ryugasaki. The theme of the event was "Let's Experience Our Dream Jobs in the Smiling Town of Ryugasaki," reflecting the goal to cultivate local affection and pride among the youth.

This marks the fourth consecutive year since the event's inception in fiscal year 2022, and its popularity has only grown over time. The Tatsu no Ko Waku Waku Work event saw participation from the community, which proved to be instrumental in bringing the project to fruition. This community collaboration not only provided children with unique experiences but also played a crucial role in revitalizing the local economy.

In this year's event, the organizers were thrilled by an overwhelming response, receiving over 1,800 applications, far exceeding the available slots. This high turnout can be attributed to the event's expanded offerings this year. Apart from the usual favorites, such as wedding planning and firefighting experiences, the organizers incorporated feedback from previous participants. Thus, they added seven additional career experiences, including baking and pastry-making, making it a truly diverse opportunity for the kids.

The timing of the event during summer vacation was also a strategic move, allowing families to utilize the experiences as a means of enhancing their children’s learning while they are away from school. Parents and participants expressed their enthusiasm, highlighting comments like, "This was a rare opportunity for unique experiences," and "It opened up new avenues for future career paths." The overall satisfaction rate among participants was remarkably high, reaching around 98%.

The success of Tatsu no Ko Waku Waku Work is an indication of the program's relevance and its positive impact on children’s perceptions of careers, motivating them to explore various professions that they may not have considered otherwise. The event not only provided valuable hands-on experiences for the children but also aimed to deepen their connection with the community.

Tobu Top Tours Co., Ltd. remains committed to working alongside local governments and community members to promote initiatives that contribute to regional revitalization and cultural engagement.
