El Camino Health Welcomes Raju Iyer as New Chief Financial Officer to Drive Healthcare Innovations

El Camino Health Appoints Raju Iyer as Chief Financial Officer

El Camino Health has announced the appointment of Raju Iyer as its new Chief Financial Officer. Bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in healthcare finance leadership, Iyer is set to play a crucial role in the organization's mission to enhance its service offerings and expand its operational footprint.

Having previously served as CFO at both Sutter Health and UCSF Health, Iyer has a proven track record of managing significant financial operations, spearheading capital investments, and driving transformative growth initiatives. His leadership is expected to be instrumental as El Camino Health embarks on its strategic plans to redefine the future of healthcare in the region, focusing on advanced care, enhanced facilities, and meaningful partnerships with physicians.

A Vision for Growth

CEO Dan Woods expressed his enthusiasm about Iyer's arrival, noting that his expertise in strategic financial planning and operational excellence will be pivotal in strengthening El Camino Health’s healthcare system. “Raju Iyer's appointment is a significant step forward as we expand our regional footprint and invest in the future of healthcare,” Woods stated.

El Camino Health has experienced remarkable growth, now serving double the number of patients compared to six years ago, and expanding its medical staff to more than 300 physicians. This growth necessitates strategic investments in new facilities and technology to meet the evolving needs of communities across the Bay Area.

Iyer himself shared that his professional values align closely with El Camino Health's commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and community service. “I am thrilled to join an organization that not only prioritizes investing in its future but also values the delivery of exceptional care to every patient,” he remarked.

Financial Stewardship at Its Best

At UCSF Health, Iyer oversaw financial stewardship across numerous hospitals and hundreds of clinics, supporting essential infrastructure projects that enhanced the system's mission. During his tenure at Sutter Health, he managed the financial operations for 21 hospitals and five medical foundations, overseeing multi-billion-dollar capital investments while playing a critical role in long-range strategic planning.

As CFO, Iyer will be responsible for all financial functions at El Camino Health. His leadership is crucial as the organization embarks on ambitious growth initiatives, including a significant hospital expansion in Los Gatos and future acquisitions, all rooted in a commitment to patient care, quality, and community service.

Woods further noted, “El Camino Health is taking bold and strategic steps to shape the future of healthcare in our region. Raju's experience and vision will be key in delivering on our promise of compassionate care for generations to come.”

Educational Background

Raju Iyer holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Chicago, which complements his extensive background in healthcare finance and management.
