Empowering Patients: The 2026 UBCF-Brookfield Pink Bag Event
The United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) is launching its highly anticipated Pink Bag Event Initiative in collaboration with GGP, which was previously known as Brookfield Properties. Scheduled for the end of September through early November, this nationwide campaign aims to provide essential support for breast cancer patients and survivors during a critical awareness month.
This year, the initiative is set to distribute over
13,500 curated Pink Bags containing quality name brand items such as personal care products, beauty tools, accessories, and practical essentials. The total value of these gifts exceeds an impressive
$8.5 million, made possible through generous contributions from retail partners.
As UBCF and GGP mark their fifth consecutive year of partnership through this initiative, their collaborative effort continues to grow, reaching thousands of individuals battling the disease across the United States. The Pink Bag Events not only aim to provide comfort but also play an important role in educating the public on vital topics like prevention, screening, treatment options, and available resources for survivors.
Stephanie Mastroianni, Executive Director of UBCF, expressed pride in the initiative's progress, stating, "We are extremely proud to share that we have surpassed our previous years' numbers. We look forward to expanding our partnership and growing our network even further."
Breast cancer impacts numerous lives in the U.S., with a sobering statistic that reveals
every two minutes, a woman receives a breast cancer diagnosis. This disease affects one in eight women in their lifetime, and while less common, approximately
2,800 men are also facing this diagnosis this year. These alarming figures highlight the ongoing need for early detection, education, and unwavering support—values central to UBCF's mission to positively impact the lives of those affected.
As a key partner, GGP is committed to making a difference by hosting the Pink Bag Events at
28 shopping centers nationwide. Caryn Torres, Senior Vice President of Property Management at Brookfield Properties, shared her enthusiasm, saying, "Every year, we've watched our Pink Bag program grow into something our community really looks forward to. This event is a chance for us to spread joy, show our support, and help raise awareness in a way that truly connects with people."
The importance of early detection in saving lives cannot be overstated; the American Cancer Society notes that when breast cancer is found during its earliest stages, the five-year survival rate is a hopeful
99%. Currently, there are over
4 million breast cancer survivors living in the U.S., and organizations like UBCF are tirelessly working to inspire hope and expand support to even more individuals facing this battle.
Since its inception in 2000, UBCF has been a beacon of support for women, men, and families affected by breast cancer nationwide, offering services like financial assistance, screening initiatives, and special events like the Pink Bag distributions. To learn more and support UBCF's mission, visit

Additionally, UBCF invites everyone to their upcoming
Think Pink Gala on
November 20, 2026, at The Plaza in New York City. This event will serve as a prestigious gathering of like-minded individuals dedicated to making a real difference. Tickets are available for purchase on the UBCF website, and participation will contribute to the vital mission of supporting those impacted by breast cancer.
In summary, the 2026 UBCF-Brookfield Pink Bag Event initiative stands as a testament to the power of community, awareness, and compassion in confronting the challenges associated with breast cancer. Join us in assisting those in need, spreading awareness, and ultimately fostering hope for a brighter future.
