Antero Resources and Antero Midstream Announce Leadership Transition

In a pivotal move for both Antero Resources Corporation and Antero Midstream Corporation, Michael N. Kennedy has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer, President, and Director for both companies, effective immediately. This strategic promotion comes alongside the transition of long-time leader Paul M. Rady into the role of Chairman Emeritus, paving the way for a new chapter in their corporate history.

Mr. Kennedy, who joined Antero in 2013, has significantly influenced various facets of the organization, culminating in his recent appointment. He has held the position of Chief Financial Officer since 2021 and has prior experience as Senior Vice President of Finance spanning both Antero Resources and Antero Midstream since 2016. His comprehensive understanding of the finance sector is further backed by his previous role as Chief Financial Officer of Antero Midstream and its predecessors. Before joining Antero, he amassed twelve years of experience at Forest Oil Corporation, ultimately serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Recognized for his industry acumen, Mr. Kennedy's leadership style and financial expertise have garnered him respect over his nearly three-decade career in the oil and gas sector. Lead Independent Director, Benjamin A. Hardesty, pointed out that Kennedy was the 'obvious choice' to succeed Rady, highlighting his seamless collaboration with Rady in making key operational and financial decisions for the company.

In a statement regarding his new roles, Mr. Kennedy expressed his gratitude towards the Boards of Directors for their trust and emphasized his commitment to building upon Paul Rady's impressive legacy. He stated, "I have worked side-by-side with Paul Rady for many years and have gained many valuable insights along the way. He has been an exceptional leader for Antero. I am excited for the opportunity to build upon Paul's legacy and lead the fantastic teams at Antero Resources and Antero Midstream."

The leadership transition also brought changes to the board structures of both companies. Benjamin A. Hardesty will assume the position of Chairman of the Board for Antero Resources, while David H. Keyte will take that role at Antero Midstream. Both Hardesty and Keyte have held significant roles in the energy industry and have a wealth of experience that positions them ideally to guide the companies in their respective domains.

Furthermore, Yvette K. Schultz, who has been part of Antero since 2015 and currently serves as General Counsel, will join Antero Midstream's Board of Directors. She has played a critical role in navigating the legal landscape for both companies, demonstrating her capability in understanding the complexities within the industry.

Brendan E. Krueger and Justin J. Agnew will take on key financial responsibilities within the companies. Mr. Krueger, currently Chief Financial Officer, will continue to work closely with the leadership teams of both companies, while Mr. Agnew will step into the CFO role for Antero Midstream. Their extensive backgrounds in finance and capital markets make them well-suited for these critical roles in guiding the companies' financial strategies.

In summary, the recent leadership reshuffle at Antero Resources and Antero Midstream signals a renewed vision for both companies as they position themselves to capture growth opportunities, particularly in light of increasing demand for natural gas. With Kennedy at the helm, alongside a team of experienced leaders, the companies are set to continue their trajectory in the energy sector, responding effectively to market demands and challenges ahead.

As they transition into this exciting new phase, both Kennedy and the other board members are eager to carry forward the ambitions and legacy of the organizations while fostering growth and sustainability within the ever-evolving landscape of natural gas and energy resources.
