M/G Transport Services Welcomes New Executive Team
M/G Transport Services, established in Louisiana, is a leading entity in the inland barge transportation sector. Recently, they announced significant advancements in their executive leadership. This strategic decision is expected to leverage over 90 years of collective inland marine experience to propel the company into its next growth phase.
New Leadership Structure
Prominent in this transition is Terence Gomez, who has been elevated to President after joining M/G Transport Services in 2013. With a career that launched in 1978 at Agri-Trans Corporation and included a vice presidency at AEP River Operations, Gomez’s extensive background in logistics and operations is expected to greatly benefit the company.
Joining Gomez in leadership are Mark Czarnecki and Benjamin Amoss. Czarnecki, who serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, has been in the maritime industry since 1980. He has held various positions in renowned companies like AEP River Operations and joined M/G Transport Services as Vice President of Sales in 2017. His experience in sales and commercial operations will be invaluable in enhancing the company’s market presence.
On the financial front, Benjamin Amoss has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. With over a decade in financial roles, primarily focused on planning and analysis, Amoss brings insights from the automotive and renewable energy sectors. His previous role as Director of Finance at PosiGen has equipped him with the crucial acumen required for navigating the financial intricacies of M/G Transport Services. Together, Gomez, Czarnecki, and Amoss present a formidable trio equipped to lead the company into the future.
Building on a Legacy
With over 50 years of history, M/G Transport Services has continued to thrive by adapting its operations and maintaining a robust fleet of covered and open hopper barges. The new leadership emphasizes a commitment to delivering top-tier services and upholding the company’s reputation built over decades.
John Binion, Chairman of the Board, expressed his enthusiasm for the new team, stating that their combined expertise will help in maintaining and enhancing the company's service standards. He affirmed the Board's confidence in Gomez, noting that his leadership is instrumental to the continued success of M/G Transport Services.
Commitment to Excellence
As M/G Transport Services embarks on this new chapter, its leadership aims to not only sustain the company's legacy but also to innovate and improve operational efficiencies further. The firm focuses on moving dry bulk cargoes through the inland river system, and this new team is positioned to reinforce M/G’s promise of excellence moving forward.
