Join FINOPITCH 2026: A Global Platform for FinTech Startups



FINOLAB, based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, is excited to announce the call for entries for the global pitch contest, FINOPITCH 2026, which will take place on February 26, 2026. This prestigious event aims to spotlight the most innovative FinTech startups from around the globe. Entry submissions are open until December 31, 2025.

A Legacy of Innovation


Launched in 2012 as Japan's first FinTech pitch contest, originally known as FIBC, FINOPITCH has become a premier international event representing the pinnacle of FinTech innovation. Each year, finalist startups, having passed the preliminary screening, will present their ideas in a 7-minute pitch to a panel of judges and an audience. The best services will be recognized through scores from judges and votes from viewers. Over 240 FinTech startups, including some of Japan's prominent companies, have participated in the competition over the years.

Application Process Details


To ensure a seamless experience for participants, the application process is straightforward:
  • - Application Deadline: December 31, 2025
  • - Results Notification: January 26, 2026
  • - Pitches and Awards Ceremony: February 26, 2026, at the Kanze Noh Theatre, located beneath GINZA SIX.

This pitch contest is scheduled during Japan Fintech Week 2026, from February 26 to March 6, and will be integrated into our event, Future Frontier Fes by FINOLAB.

Eligibility Criteria


To participate in FINOPITCH 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • - Be a FinTech startup that offers services related to financial technology.
  • - Have a demonstrable product or service available for demonstration.
  • - Agree to the terms stated in the entry form.
  • - For domestic companies: Established within the last 6 years and started services within 2 years.
  • - For international companies: Established within the last 8 years and started services within 3 years, with an intention to expand into Japan.

Presentation Format


Each startup will present their product or service in English, including a demonstration, within a time limit of 7 minutes.

Evaluation Criteria


Judges will assess pitches based on:
  • - Impact on financial markets
  • - Innovation in business models
  • - Growth potential of the business
  • - Likelihood of becoming a global service

Awards


Participants will have the chance to win several awards:
  • - Grand Prize
  • - Audience Award
  • - Supporter Award

Judging Panel


The judging panel will consist of members from the FINOVATORS, a general incorporated association focused on financial innovation.
