Pine Gate Renewables and Waaree Solar Americas' Landmark Solar Deal



In a noteworthy development for the renewable energy sector, Pine Gate Renewables has entered into a significant agreement with Waaree Solar Americas, whereby they will procure over 586 megawatts (MW) of domestically manufactured high-efficiency solar modules. Valued at $176 million, this deal is a strong step towards enhancing the American solar supply chain's capabilities and sustainability.

The modules from this substantial order will be deployed across four distinct projects meticulously planned to commence operation starting in 2026. As Kim Osmars, the Chief Operating Officer of Pine Gate Renewables, emphasized, there is an increasing urgency to meet rising energy demands. John Kern, Senior Vice President and the transaction lead at Pine Gate, echoed these sentiments. He stated that constructing sustainable energy projects using locally manufactured components not only adds value to these initiatives but also contributes significantly to local employment and the strengthening of the domestic clean energy industry.

In alignment with this deal, Waaree has announced plans to expand the manufacturing facility situated in Brookshire, Texas. The plant, which currently boasts a capacity of 1.6 GW, aims to double its production to 3.2 GW, further enhancing local employment opportunities and bolstering energy self-sufficiency in the United States. Waaree has previously established its presence in the American market by supplying over 6 GW of solar modules from its manufacturing plants in India, demonstrating its long-standing commitment and reliability to U.S. customers.
