The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) recently made waves at CES 2026, highlighting its vision for a futuristic city and showcasing the technological prowess of Incheon-based companies to a wide international audience. Under the captivating theme, “Destination Incheon — From Smart City to AI City,” the booth attracted an impressive 15,000 visitors, marking a significant turnout.
IFEZ took this opportunity to underscore its commitment to supporting 50 innovative companies that participated in the event. This included various participation tracks within the convention, such as ten companies in the dedicated ‘INCHEON-IFEZ Booth’ at the Las Vegas Convention Center, ten in the Korea Pavilion (KOTRA) at Eureka Park, six in the Global Pavilion, and others showcased as part of the Incheon Startup Park Delegation. The event served as a valuable platform for these companies, fostering global engagement and collaboration.
One of the highlights of IFEZ’s participation was the successful conduct of 1,419 business consultations with international buyers and investors, leading to an astonishing estimated export consultation value of $560 million. This figure represents a remarkable increase of over 400 meetings compared to the previous year. Furthermore, nine of the participating companies secured a total of 20 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), paving the way for future partnerships and collaborative opportunities.
Notable MOUs included one between Leadpoint System, a provider of smart manufacturing solutions, and Webtronic Labs, a tech R&D company based in the U.S. Additionally, emCT, specializing in fire safety solutions, signed an MOU with Texas Legacy Realty to enhance safety measures in the real estate domain. Another significant collaboration was established between Medicell Healthcare and the City of Phoenix, aiming for technology-driven healthcare innovations and local pilot projects.
The accolades did not end there. A total of 14 companies from the IFEZ secured 17 CES Innovation Awards, a record achievement showcasing Incheon’s dynamic tech ecosystem. Among these, Deep Fusion AI stood out by receiving the Best of Innovation honor for its advanced radar-based sensor-fusion technology, which has promising applications in autonomous driving and robotics.
Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok expressed pride in the achievements at CES 2026, viewing it as a significant step forward in realizing Incheon’s AI City vision on the global stage. He reaffirmed the administration's commitment to supporting local enterprises in expanding their international footprint and establishing Incheon as a pivotal hub for global business.
As IFEZ continues to foster innovation and collaboration, it positions itself as a gateway for startups and established firms alike to leverage the growth opportunities in emerging markets. The participation at CES 2026 has undoubtedly charted a promising course for the future of Incheon as a center for technological advancement and smart city development.
