NIG FES 2026: A Celebration of Talent and Passion

On March 27, 2026, Kanadevia Hall in Tokyo was alive with the spirit of competition and camaraderie as the popular idol festival, NIG FES 2026, showcased Japan's finest idol groups. This year's festival included 23 groups, featuring renowned acts like NMB48, Rainbow Conquistadors, and Takanenonadeshiko. Although traditionally a two-day event, this year’s festival coincided with a collaboration event with ‘Zipper,’ limiting it to a single exhilarating day.

A Fantastic Kick-Off

The festivities began with Kasumin, a competitor from the 'NEXT IDOL GRANDPRIX 2026' who obtained fifth place. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the audience cheered her on during her engaging performance. Following her, the vibrant group Fruit Fruit, who placed fourth, invigorated the crowd with their energetic dances. Other notable performances came from groups like α+, delivering refreshing songs about the emotions of young girls, and Full Course, whose stunning outfits defied expectations for newcomers.

As the festival progressed, third-place winner Momonya captivated everyone with her sweet and delicate voice, creating an enchanting transition to the next acts. Various groups that shared the same management, including Sunny Circle, FR2PON!, and Okosama Plate, took turns performing tracks ranging from upbeat EDM to captivating love songs, showcasing their unique worlds and captivating the audience.

The Main Stage Highlights

The second half of the festival featured PHiZZ, the second-place group from the NEXT IDOL GRANDPRIX. They enthralled the audience with polished vocals and choreography, despite their recent change in lineup. Their hard-hitting sound resonated as they performed hits like Pueratos Absolute Value and SAI²Rium. The crowd was left in awe, completely enchanted by their passionate performance. Following them was last year's grand prize winner Shumatsu no Anthem, who revisited the stage with their signature song ANTHEM, showcasing a refined performance style that left everyone breathless.

As the third segment of the festival commenced, the atmosphere escalated further when NMB48 graced the stage. With their captivating choreography in Warota People and other fan-favorite tracks, they emphasized their standing in the idol hierarchy while energizing the crowd. Hot on their heels, the newly crowned champion ensemble Congratche! dazzled everyone with powerful performances, marking their ascent in the idol scene with songs like Pakkarn!.

A Grand Finale

The festival culminated with a dynamic set from Peel the Apple, who elevated the mood with their lively anthem VIVA Natsu Sunshine followed by songs that evoked pure romance. The aptly-named Rainbow Conquistadors charged onto the stage, delivering electrifying renditions of summer hits that ensured the vibes remained high, collectively synchronizing with fans in a spirited atmosphere.

Finally, the entire event reached its peak when Takanenonadeshiko arrived to close the festival. Their powerful rendition of Kessen Spirit resonated deeply with the audience, as they performed several pieces that celebrated the journey of both idol participants and their supportive fans. Their major debut song, Ubeautiful Living, left a lasting impression, culminating in the event as thunderous applause and cheers filled the venue.
