Peru Pavilion at Expo Osaka-Kansai Celebrates Over One Million Visitors

Peru Pavilion at Expo Osaka-Kansai Welcomes One Million Visitors

The Peru Pavilion at the prestigious Expo Osaka-Kansai 2025 has made headlines by reaching a remarkable milestone of one million visitors. This achievement not only underscores the appeal of the pavilion but also reinforces Peru's strategic positioning as a key player in global exhibitions.

The milestone visitor was Noriko Norimura, a Japanese citizen who expressed her excitement about being the one millionth guest. "I actually came to the Expo because I wanted to visit the Peru pavilion, to see the alpacas and because I really like Machu Picchu. I stood in line, but I never imagined I would be the millionth visitor. I was very surprised," she remarked. The warmth of Peruvian hospitality was evident as she enjoyed a unique cultural experience, receiving gifts that included local products like pisco, cacao, camu camu, and a baby alpaca pashmina. Norimura also had the opportunity to savor delicious Peruvian dishes such as quinoa pilaf and anticuchos, that highlighted the country's culinary diversity.

This achievement is a testament to the effectiveness of the strategic plan implemented by PROMPERÚ (the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism) at this global showcase, which is set to run until October 13, 2025. It reflects the commitment of Peru to promote its rich culture, traditions, and gastronomic heritage on an international stage.

Over the six-month duration of the Expo, the Peru Pavilion has hosted an array of activities, featuring cultural exhibitions, gastronomic experiences, and artistic performances. This blend of offerings has created a vibrant meeting space for visitors to connect with Peru’s identity and explore its potential as a tourist destination.

The unprecedented interest in the Peru Pavilion indicates that it has become one of the most popular and attractive exhibits at the Expo. As the initial visitor goal was surpassed ahead of schedule, projections are optimistic that the attendance will exceed estimates as the event continues.

The involvement of Peru in Expo Osaka-Kansai 2025 showcases the nation's aspiration to enhance its visibility in international markets while fostering economic opportunities, especially in exports and tourism. The commitment of PROMPERÚ to effectively communicate and engage with a global audience is a significant stride towards elevating Peru's profile as a desirable travel destination.

In the coming months, the Expo will continue to serve as a platform for cultural exchange, allowing visitors from all over the world to experience what Peru offers. As the Expo progresses, the Peru Pavilion will likely keep captivating visitors with its unique offerings that beautifully showcase the nation’s rich history and vibrant present.

By maximizing its participation in this global event, Peru aims to establish itself not only as a prime location for tourism but also as a hub for business and investment in South America. The success achieved so far at Expo Osaka-Kansai bodes well for the future of Peru as it embarks on this ambitious journey in the global arena.
