Educational Game Teaches Sustainable Future Through SDGs Lessons
In an engaging effort to educate students about sustainability, Palsystem Gunma is hosting special classes at Yotsuba Gakuen Junior High School in Isezaki City, Gunma Prefecture. These sessions, taking place on January 8th and 15th, 2026, aim to immerse the students in the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a dynamic card game experience. The initiative underscores the importance of individual contributions toward a sustainable future.
Importance of SDGs and Student Engagement
Approximately 130 second-year students from Yotsuba Gakuen will participate in this unique program. The staff from Palsystem Gunma will serve as facilitators, guiding the students through the card game titled "2030 SDGs." Through this interactive format, players experience different projects that highlight various pathways toward achieving the diverse goals set for 2030. The game carefully curates scenarios that reflect real-world social challenges, bringing the concept of SDGs closer to the students' personal experiences.
The focus of the initiative is to help students understand why SDGs are necessary and how changes in their behavior can lead to a more promising future. By reflecting on what actions they can take, each student is encouraged to think critically about their role in fostering a sustainable society. The interactive nature of the game not only provides valuable knowledge but also ignites enthusiasm for real-world application.
