SINEXCEL and Wasion Energy Unveil Innovative Energy Storage Project in Central America

SINEXCEL and Wasion Energy Launch a Landmark Energy Storage Project

In a remarkable collaborative effort, SINEXCEL and Wasion Energy have officially initiated the operation of the Coopesantos wind energy storage system in Costa Rica. This significant event, which took place on July 10, 2025, marks an important milestone in the realm of renewable energy, particularly in Central America. The inauguration ceremony was attended by local government representatives, highlighting the growing partnership between China and Costa Rica in the renewable energy sector.

The Coopesantos energy storage system employs an advanced SINEXCEL inverter, boasting a capacity of 1250 kW PCS. This cutting-edge technology stands out due to several key features that ensure high efficiency and reliability. First and foremost, it offers intelligent control, achieving over 99% efficiency in peak shaving, frequency regulation, and voltage support. This makes it an incredibly valuable asset for managing and stabilizing the local grid, especially as Costa Rica continues to transition towards greener energy solutions.

Moreover, the system is designed with safety as a paramount concern. The incorporation of Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) technology allows the device to operate not only in normal conditions but also in emergency startup mode and in parallel without a grid connection. This ensures a reliable power supply even in the most extreme conditions, making it an essential solution for the region's energy resilience.

The technology developed in collaboration with Wasion Energy exhibits enhanced resistance to shocks and humidity, tailored to thrive in the high temperatures, significant humidity, and frequent seismic activities characteristic of Central America. During a technology seminar held prior to the official launch, domestic energy authority representatives, industry experts, and international clients showed enthusiastic support for the solution, confirming the global competitiveness of SINEXCEL’s energy storage technology.

The successful implementation of this project marks a strategic breakthrough for SINEXCEL in the Central American market and serves as a critical element in the company's global expansion strategy. Going forward, SINEXCEL is committed to accelerating energy transformation while ensuring energy source diversity across Latin America and beyond.

Founded in 2007, SINEXCEL has emerged as a pioneer in electric vehicle charging systems and energy storage solutions, actively providing access to high-quality energy. With an impressive track record that includes deploying energy storage systems with a cumulative capacity of 12 GW, installing 140,000 EV chargers, and almost 20 million active harmonic filters, SINEXCEL is at the forefront of energy innovation. The company partners with leading industry players such as EVE Energy and Schneider Electric to promote energy freedom worldwide.
