The respondents of the report include high-achieving students predominantly from top Japanese universities:

- Imperial Universities: The University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Osaka University, Tohoku University, Hokkaido University, and Kyushu University.
- Other National Universities: Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo University of Science, Chiba University, and more.
- Waseda and Keio Universities: Both institutions are well-known premier private universities in Japan.
