As summer vacation approaches, the SHIBUYA STREAM HOTEL in Tokyo is hosting an exciting workshop designed for children and their parents! Scheduled for August 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM, this workshop promises a hands-on experience learning about the universe and Earth’s history while creating original artworks.

At Bar & Dining “TORRENT,” families can explore natural stones, meteorites, and fossils through a collaborative event with the Cosmo Planetarium Shibuya. This annual workshop aims to enrich children’s understanding of space while engaging them creatively. The unique combination of stone paint-making and cake decoration ensures a fun learning experience suitable for school projects.

What to Expect at the Workshop

1. Stone Paint Creation

Participants will get to handle real natural stones, meteorites, and fossils. The workshop will led by Ryosuke Watanabe from Stargaze Office CUE, who will guide children in turning stones into paint. They will discover the fascinating colors that emerge from different stones, stimulating their curiosity and creativity. As a finale, kids will create their very own fans using the paints they made, solidifying their learning through hands-on art.

2. Planet Cake Decoration

After making their art, parents and kids will switch gears and step into the shoes of a hotel patisserie chef. Wearing chef coats, they will decorate dome-shaped planet cakes made of chocolate mousse and fresh strawberries. With colorful whipped cream, star-shaped cookies, fruits, and cosmic-themed picks, each family will create a one-of-a-kind Planet Cake to enjoy right at the venue. This experience combines culinary art with a fun environment, making it an unforgettable summer memory.

• - Target Age: Recommended for grades 3 and up (not suitable for preschoolers)
