Combatting Isolation in Parenting: The Kizuna Mail Fund Initiative
In a world where parental support is crucial for healthy child development, the NPO Kizuna Mail Project (based in Toshima, Tokyo) has taken a significant step forward by launching the Kizuna Mail Fund in September 2024. This initiative aims to combat a growing issue in society: 'lonely parenting' that can lead to child abuse, also known as maltreatment.
Introduction to the Kizuna Mail Project
The Kizuna Mail Project focuses on preventing isolation among new parents and ensuring a solid safety net that can provide assistance during challenging times. The project operates across 34 municipalities and healthcare facilities, expanding its reach and enhancing services to create a more robust safety network. The cornerstone of this initiative is the 'Kizuna Mail business,' which is designed to keep parents connected and informed through regular communication.
What is the Kizuna Mail Business?
The Kizuna Mail business involves dispatching curated text messages aimed at parents, designed and overseen by a team of experts. These messages provide essential information and support through LINE accounts, email, and mobile applications, forming a continuous social network where parents can find comfort and develop connections with others.
As of July 1, 2026, the active user count for this service stands at an impressive 66,289, demonstrating a growing community. The project actively seeks to increase this number further and enhance the support given to parents.
Call for Collaboration
The Kizuna Mail Project currently requires funding through collaboration with municipalities and healthcare institutions. Organizations willing to support the cause can benefit from the Kizuna Mail Fund, with costs for participation potentially covered by the fund, allowing these organizations to offer the Kizuna Mail services at no direct charge to those they serve.
Who Can Help?
The project is looking for corporate partners who meet specific criteria to enhance its reach. Ideal collaborators should have regular contact with over 30 expectant mothers or their partners monthly, with a potential to register a minimum of 360 new users each year. Additionally, those organizations are encouraged to spearhead initiatives targeting male audiences, ensuring that support for new fathers is effectively communicated.
Duration and Terms of Collaboration
The initial phase of collaboration will commence as soon as arrangements can be made. The partnership can last up to two years, with flexibility in contract design to meet the needs of corporate partners. Options include collaboration agreements, experimental partnerships, or purpose-driven licensing contracts.
Our Vision
