Explore the Unique Art Exhibition 'Gashin'
From June 10 to June 28, 2026, the basement gallery of Kitamura Photo Store in Shinjuku will host an innovative art exhibition titled 'Gashin: Connecting Art and Heart'. Organized by UKIYO Co., Ltd. and the Takarazuka University Advanced Education Development Center for Media Arts, this exhibition will bring together striking visual art that marries illustrations with photography.
What is 'Gashin'?
The title 'Gashin' is a blend of the characters for 'painting' (画) and 'photograph' (真), embodying the theme of this exhibition that strives to combine creative illustration styles with the authenticity of photography. This unique approach aims to capture and reflect both the artistic heart and the genuine essence of the creators' visions.
The exhibition features an impressive lineup of five artists who are pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms. Participating creators include Wataru Inada, Ichiso Kujou, Niri Tsuki, Misakura, and Refia. Each artist brings their distinct style and perspective to the exhibition, showcasing how they interact with both mediums to create captivating works of art.
Additionally, the logo design for 'Gashin' has been created by the talented designer Raku Hiiragi, further enhancing the artistic identity of this event.
