Groove Toyota's Groove For Good Celebrates Sushi Den's 10th Rooftop Party in Denver

Groove Toyota's Groove For Good Supports a Decade of Charity at Sushi Den's Rooftop Party

This summer, Groove Toyota's philanthropic initiative, Groove For Good, proudly stepped in as the chief sponsor for the 10th Annual Rooftop Party hosted by Sushi Den. Held in the picturesque Platt Park neighborhood of Denver, this beloved event brought together community members for a night filled with delicious local cuisine and lively entertainment. Over the past decade, the rooftop party has garnered significant attention, raising an impressive $360,000 for various charitable causes, underscoring the importance of community spirit and collaboration.

Chuck Morris, the owner and managing partner of Groove Toyota, emphasized the initiative's commitment to serving the community. "Groove For Good is about showing up for the causes that matter most to our neighbors right here in Denver," he stated. This sentiment resonates deeply with the mission behind the event, which exceeds mere fundraising; it fosters connection and support among Denver residents.

According to Yasu Kizaki, Sushi Den's co-founder, this year's support from Groove Toyota marked a transformative moment for the rooftop party. "This year, Groove Toyota has become our most important partner and sponsor of the event. We cannot thank them enough for their support,” Kizaki remarked, highlighting the profound impact that corporate involvement can have on community events.

The fundraising efforts at this year's rooftop party were particularly focused on supporting We Don't Waste, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing food waste by redistributing surplus food to over 150 local nonprofits, including food banks and shelters. "Just so far this year, we've recovered almost 3.5 million pounds of food," shared Drew Sanford, fleet manager for We Don't Waste. This initiative demonstrates a crucial response to hunger in the local area, embodying the essence of community unity through concerted effort.

Other beneficiaries of this year's fundraising included the Wildland Firefighters Foundation, aid for World Central Kitchen's earthquake relief efforts in Venezuela, and disaster relief for the Kumamoto earthquake in Japan. Notably, the latter cause was the initial inspiration for the rooftop party ten years ago, showcasing a long-standing commitment to international humanitarian efforts by both Sushi Den and Groove Toyota.
