CarParts.com to Host Fix-It Day 2025: A Free Auto Repair Initiative for Los Angeles Residents

Fix-It Day 2025: A Vital Initiative for Los Angeles Residents

On March 2, 2025, CarParts.com, Inc. will host Fix-It Day 2025, a significant event providing free car repairs to families in need within Los Angeles. This community-focused initiative aims to assist those who have been facing hardships, including displacement due to recent wildfires in the area.

In partnership with Safe Parking LA, the Petersen Automotive Museum, and numerous dedicated volunteers and businesses, this event stands to greatly impact the lives of those struggling. The repairs will take place from 8 AM to 5 PM, and 38 pre-selected families will receive essential maintenance services at no cost.

Significance of Fix-It Day

For many, the cost of vehicle maintenance can be overwhelming. With repair bills often ranging from $500 to $1,000, families are frequently left with difficult choices: whether to fix their vehicle or allocate funds towards rent, food, and healthcare. As Matthew Tecle, Executive Director of Safe Parking LA, highlights, a functioning car can be critical for maintaining employment, ensuring children attend school, and accessing medical appointments. This event seeks to alleviate some of these burdens, allowing families to focus on rebuilding their lives.

Christina Thelin, CMO of CarParts.com, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Ensuring driver safety is at the heart of everything we do at CarParts.com. Fix-It Day is about more than just fixing cars; it’s about supporting our neighbors and empowering them to keep going.”

Event Logistics and Support

The Petersen Automotive Museum, an iconic establishment dedicated to the automotive culture, is providing the venue and logistical support for the event. Terry L. Karges, the museum’s Executive Director, recognizes that dependable transportation is essential in Los Angeles, especially for those affected by recent disasters.

The event will feature a variety of essential repairs, including brake replacements, battery changes, oil changes, and more. Mechanic teams provided by Wrench will be available on-site to deliver these services. In addition to free repairs, contributors like JC Whitney are donating tools, LIQUI MOLY is supplying premium oils, and Bosch is providing vital components to ensure vehicles remain reliable afterward.

Moreover, The Lime Truck will offer complimentary meals to participants, volunteers, and mechanics throughout the day.

Future Support for Participants

Beyond the immediate assistance of car repairs, CarParts.com is committed to providing ongoing support. All participants will receive CarParts+ Memberships, granting them access to exclusive discounts and additional automotive resources. This membership reflects the company's dedication to not only solving immediate problems but also fostering long-term support for families in need.

A Movement of Generosity

Fix-It Day 2025 is not merely about fixing cars; it’s a movement aimed at restoring dignity, hope, and the possibility of a brighter future for many communities across Los Angeles. Through the collaboration of industry leaders, nonprofits, and compassionate volunteers, this event stands as a powerful testament to the support available for those facing unexpected challenges.

Members of the media are invited to cover this inspiring event, with opportunities to capture the transformative repairs in action and engage with families, volunteers, and organizers. This initiative encapsulates the spirit of community and highlights the significant role that compassion and collaboration play in overcoming adversity.
