Experience Kissimmee has recently introduced Film Kissimmee, the official film commission dedicated to promoting Osceola County as a prime location for television, film, commercial, and digital media productions. This initiative is designed to showcase the county's diverse filming locations while supporting the local tourism economy.

This new film commission aims to be a vital resource for production companies, location managers, and digital content creators looking for filming opportunities within Central Florida. By connecting industry professionals with a variety of filming locations, local expertise, and production resources, Film Kissimmee seeks to help bring stories to life in this dynamic region.

DT Minich, the President and CEO of Experience Kissimmee, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "This initiative reflects the hard work of a team that saw an opportunity and took meaningful steps to bring it to life." He elaborated that Film Kissimmee would create a direct link between the local community and the film industry, ultimately driving visitation, supporting local businesses, and introducing new audiences to what Osceola County has to offer.

In leading this charge, Nick Floyd has been appointed as the Manager of Video Production as well as the Director of the Kissimmee Film Commission. Floyd expressed his enthusiasm, asserting that Osceola County is a fantastic vacation destination which also offers a rich tapestry of environments for film and television production. "Film Kissimmee is us exploring that intersection between the two," he said.

One of the primary advantages of Film Kissimmee is the significant variety of filming environments available throughout Osceola County. Filmmakers can easily access diverse landscapes, including natural waterscapes, historic downtown streets, ranchlands, and modern innovation centers—all within a short distance. Additionally, Kissimmee boasts an extensive range of vacation homes that provide filmmakers with unique and ready-to-use settings—ranging from luxurious estates to themed properties, each offering distinct backdrops for productions.

To kick off the initiative, Experience Kissimmee collaborated with a seasoned location scout who has over 20 years of experience in the industry. This expert identified and documented more than 100 potential filming sites across Osceola County. These locations are being integrated into an online directory powered by Reel-Scout, a leading location management platform that enables filmmakers to browse available properties, review images, and access essential production information.

The mission of Film Kissimmee extends beyond simply attracting projects; it aims to create tangible economic benefits for local businesses. Productions often require various services, including lodging, dining, transportation, equipment rentals, and additional support while filming on location. Such expenditures are anticipated to provide a significant boost to local hospitality operators and service providers, aligning with Experience Kissimmee’s broader goal of fostering tourism-related economic impacts across Osceola County.
