Huawei Unveils Next-Generation AI Solutions for Green Sites and AIDC at MWC 2026

Huawei's Innovations at MWC 2026

During the MWC 2026 event held in Barcelona, Bob He, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power, introduced groundbreaking AI-driven solutions designed to facilitate the development of Green Sites and Advanced Intelligent Data Centers (AIDC) at the GW level. These advancements are targeted at empowering operators to establish networks that result in zero carbon emissions while enhancing AI computing capabilities in an era of smart technology.

Transforming Energy Challenges into Opportunities

As the world shifts towards intelligent systems, the demand for AI technology is rapidly increasing, leading to unprecedented traffic growth that challenges energy production facilities. Huawei's Green Site, the first end-to-end intelligent synergy solution, aims to improve network resilience while significantly reducing operational energy costs. This initiative effectively transforms operators' energy storage assets into profitable income streams.

For instance, through advanced backup solutions, Huawei has doubled the backup time, achieving a remarkable 99.9% energy availability. In Kuwait, the emergency backup duration was increased from three to six hours, ensuring operational continuity amidst power outages. This innovative approach integrates weather forecasts, energy production, and load predictions, allowing for smart scheduling of photovoltaic plants and energy storage systems. In Southern Africa alone, this solution has helped customers reduce fuel consumption by an impressive 75%, resulting in savings exceeding $10,000 and a significant decrease in carbon emissions by 18 tons per site annually.

Turning Savings into Profits

Moreover, Huawei's solutions include a virtual power plant capable of enabling energy storage assets to participate in the electricity market, generating revenue for operators. In Northern Europe, this initiative has reportedly allowed clients to boost annual revenue by over €2,000 per site.

Addressing the AIDC Demand

As the AI era continues to evolve, the demand for computing power has prompted the rise of facilities tailored for AIDC. Building such structures introduces several challenges, including reliability, energy consumption, and gradual development. Huawei's Data Center Facility redesigns four essential components—power supply, cooling, energy storage, and operational management—to provide a highly reliable AIDC solution that maximizes performance. The goal is to enhance tokens per watt, thereby supporting the advancement of AI technologies.

Comprehensive Power Solutions

Huawei's innovations encompass the entire energy chain, from the grid to the chip level. Their integrated high-density solution, PowerPOD, promises enhanced efficiency and reliability, crucial for accelerating AIDC implementations. Likewise, the IT POD system addresses cooling requirements along the AIDC chain, offering an efficient and intelligent integrated cooling solution that optimizes energy management.

Leveraging AI for Smart Operations

The integration of AI within data centers optimizes operational efficiency and security throughout the lifecycle of AIDC infrastructures. By predicting and identifying potential faults, Huawei enhances the transition from reactive maintenance to predictive strategies. Additionally, intelligent coordination among cooling and power systems lowers energy consumption, contributing to a more sustainable operational environment.

Bob He emphasized Huawei's commitment to fully utilizing the integrated advantages of energy, wireless technology, and service sectors to build flexible, reliable, and sustainable ICT power installations. The overarching objective is to hasten the intelligent transformation in the AI era, ensuring that businesses achieve enduring success while adopting greener practices.
