On November 22, 2025, world-renowned designer Junko Koshino will celebrate the release of her new book, Koshino Junko Fan Stories, with an exclusive talk show and signing event. This book, set to be released on October 31, 2025, features a collection of fan art created by Koshino, transforming traditional fans into unique canvases filled with vibrant colors and inspirational messages.

In an age where everyone has been encouraged to find joy in home activities during the pandemic, Koshino made it a mission to paint over 200 fans, each embellished with words that resonate with hope and positivity. Out of these, 56 selected pieces will be showcased in the upcoming book, inviting readers to find encouragement and aesthetics through her art. The book reinterprets Koshino’s popular magazine series, Koshino Junko Heartfelt Fan Stories, enriching the experience with more than just visuals but also with an emotional connection.

Participants who buy the book before the event date can present proof of purchase at the venue. If demand exceeds capacity, a lottery system will be utilized to select attendees. Notifications will be sent within a week after the application deadline.

Koshino's Message


In her own words, Koshino expresses her desire to share her art, which incorporates the traditional craft of Japanese fans, with people around the globe. “I am inherently positive, so the messages I've written are uplifting. If my art can bring even a little joy to someone’s day, that would make me incredibly happy,” she said, showcasing her commitment to spreading positivity through her work.

About Junko Koshino


Born in 1939 in Kishiwada, Osaka, Junko Koshino is a prominent designer based in Tokyo. With a remarkable career spanning over two decades participating in Paris Collections, her work has been showcased internationally, including at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and in cities like Beijing, Cuba, Myanmar, and Spain. Koshino is not only known for her fashion but also for her contributions to opera, theatrical costumes, and even product design. Following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, she has been dedicated to supporting recovery efforts. Furthermore, she will serve as a senior advisor for the Osaka-Kansai Expo in 2025.

Koshino's accolades include prestigious awards such as the Italian Cultural Meritorious Medal, the Montblanc International Cultural Award, and the Legion of Honour in France, reflecting her significant contributions to culture and arts.
