Happinet Selected Among Japan's Top Toy Industry Innovators by METI

Happinet's Recognition in the Toy Industry

Happinet Corporation (headquartered in Taito, Tokyo, CEO: Toshiyuki Mizutani, Stock Code: 7552) has recently announced its selection as one of Japan's 20 innovative toy companies by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) for its initiative "New Toy Industry Companies Opening New Worlds."

About the Initiative

The initiative aims to enhance the development of the toy industry and boost international competitiveness. Launched in 2025, this recognition system evaluates companies based on three key areas: 1) Global Expansion, 2) Attracting Diverse Fan Bases, and 3) Strengthening Consumer Touchpoints. The awards highlight companies that have made significant strides in these sectors.

Happinet's Key Initiatives

1. Global Expansion

Happinet collaborates with its subsidiary, Happinet America Inc., to introduce capsule toy shops in the United States. Leveraging the experience gained in Japan, where it excels in managing and attracting customers to these specialized shops, Happinet ensures a high standard of operation in the U.S. market.

2. Attracting Diverse Fan Bases

The company has pioneered efforts as an intermediary distributor to expand sales channels. Beyond traditional toy retailers and electronics stores, Happinet has also branched out into convenience stores and drugstores, broadening access to entertainment products and significantly contributing to the acquisition of a diverse fan base, reaching customers of all ages.

3. Strengthening Consumer Touchpoints

To support both retailers and manufacturers, Happinet has implemented consumer participation-based in-store events. These events include beginner experience sessions for trading card games and model kits, as well as family-friendly toy events. By actively proposing these initiatives, Happinet is creating more connections with customers and fostering opportunities for acquiring new fans.

Looking Forward

In his statement, CEO Toshiyuki Mizutani expressed honor at the recognition, emphasizing Happinet's commitment to enriching people's lives through entertainment. He envisions the company as a valuable entity that contributes to a brighter future by providing joy and creating social value.
