Launching JICA BLUE CARAVAN in Tokyo!
On December 10, 2025, the much-anticipated JICA BLUE CARAVAN will officially kick off in Tokyo, marking a significant step in promoting social entrepreneurship across Japan. Organized by Borderless Japan, this event is part of the JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteer Entrepreneurship Support Project, commonly known as JICA BLUE. The project aims to harness the valuable experiences and enthusiasm of JICA alumni, helping them contribute to society while exploring diverse career options, especially in social entrepreneurship.
Objectives of JICA BLUE
JICA BLUE is rooted in the belief that the experiences of former Overseas Cooperation Volunteers can serve as a vital resource for society. The program is not just about giving back; it’s about expanding opportunities for volunteers to engage in impactful career paths. As we look forward to 2025, JICA BLUE plans to strengthen networks among alumni and deepen collaborations with local governments and communities. Furthermore, following the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) held last August, the program will enhance support for entrepreneurs considering ventures in Africa.
What to Expect from JICA BLUE CARAVAN
The JICA BLUE CARAVAN will travel nationwide, igniting dialogues about the transformative journeys of JICA alumni into social entrepreneurs. The inaugural event will take place at the Tokyo Innovation Base in Yurakucho, and will feature an engaging pitch contest known as the
JICA BLUE Impact Award. Five former JICA volunteers will present their social enterprise projects, competing for recognition and support.
