A New Year’s Message from President Nobuhiko Kajima: Embracing Future Challenges

As we welcome the year 2026, President Nobuhiko Kajima shares his New Year’s greeting, highlighting the crucial topics that demand our attention due to the significant changes our environment and economy have faced.

The year 2025 brought with it unprecedented challenges, including severe weather events such as extreme heat outbreaks and simultaneous typhoons, all of which disrupted our lives and social economic activities. The escalating costs driven by a weak yen, rising raw material and energy prices, and the increased logistics and labor costs have only added to the financial strain, making housing affordability a greater concern.

These factors have raised the demand for homes that prioritize safety, security, and cost performance. Recognizing this pressing need, we at LIXIL are deeply committed to redefining how construction companies should operate in today’s climate, focusing on three key themes that we have been pursuing:

1. Improving Productivity: Leveraging digital technologies like AI has been a priority for enhancing our customer engagement and management efficiencies. We have refined our product offerings to ensure they align with lifetime cost considerations, ensuring competitiveness in the market. Additionally, we have reviewed our franchise system to better support our member stores with improved territorial strategies.

2. Diversification and Multilayering: Under the umbrella of our newly launched voluntary housing chain brand, "YUIE PROJECT," we have expanded our product lineup. This initiative has received widespread support from many construction companies, with 61 firms currently participating.

3. Renovation and Non-Residential Wooden Structures: In response to evolving demands, we have been promoting comprehensive insulation renovations for entire homes and progressively strengthening our approach to non-residential wooden structures.

Moving into 2026, we pledge to continue fortifying our focus on these three themes: productivity enhancement, diversification, and renovation of non-residential wooden structures. Our strategies will not only involve improving operational efficiency through AI within the FC headquarters but also empowering our franchise members to utilize AI effectively.

Moreover, we are exploring new avenues for renovation services and will work on enhancing the strengths of our respective FC and VC brands so that our franchisees can concentrate solely on sales and construction. Our goal is to establish ourselves as the top construction company in every region and ensure sustainable growth for our network.

Our long-term commitment to these initiatives represents a significant investment in our future. By harnessing our existing expertise and capabilities with accelerated execution power, we aim to fulfill our primary mission of providing “rich and comfortable living environments” for our customers. It is imperative for us to strive for even greater achievements this year.

As we embark on this new journey, we dedicate ourselves to serving you better and earnestly request your continued support throughout the year.
