Red Bull BC One Japan Qualifiers Kick Off

The excitement is building for the legendary 1-on-1 breaking battle, Red Bull BC One, as the Japan qualifiers begin today. These qualifications serve as the gateway to the prestigious Red Bull BC One World Final 2026, scheduled to take place in Toronto, Canada.

For the first time in its history, the world finals will be held in Toronto, adding to the ever-growing legacy of Red Bull BC One, which has been celebrating the art of breaking for over two decades. The Japanese qualifiers, known as the Red Bull BC One City Cypher, kick off on April 25, 2026, starting a thrilling journey toward the ultimate showdown.

This year, the first qualifier will be hosted in Okayama, the birthplace of last year's champion, B-Boy ISSIN, who triumphed at the Red Bull BC One World Final Tokyo 2025. In total, five qualifiers will take place across Sapporo, Tokyo, Nagoya, Okinawa, and Okayama. Each City Cypher will send one B-Boy and one B-Girl to the grand finale, the Red Bull BC One Cypher Japan, which is set for August 23, 2026, in Nagoya.

The Red Bull BC One World Final returned to Japan in November for the first time in nine years, taking place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo. This event showcased a record number of Japanese talent, with B-Boys Shigekix and ISSIN among the competitors. In an extraordinary feat, both ISSIN and B-Girl Riko clinched the title in their respective categories, marking the first time in history that Japanese dancers captured the championship in both genders at this prestigious event.
